| Responsibilities: |
- The Clarke County Sheriff's Office exists to provide services for the protection of life and property and the preservation of the public peace in Athens-Clarke County. I am responsible for the physical health and welfare of all inmates in the jail and the management of their property and money. I am also responsible for the service of criminal warrants, civil papers, and subpoenas, executing evictions, transporting prisoners to court, extraditing prisoners from other states to court, and providing security for State, Superior, Municipal, Magistrate, and Juvenile Courts, juries, the Clarke County Courthouse, and the courthouse parking deck.

| Time Required/ Salary: |
- The Office of Sheriff is a very time consuming position that requires one to be on duty 24/7. One must be ready to respond on the spur of the moment. However, when one has a passion for his profession, the Office of Sheriff no longer is defined as work.

| Top Issues: |
- Some of the pending issues that I have had to deal with are the overcrowded jail, retaining jail personnel, and becoming State Certified as an Agency.

- I think that voters should know that I bring to this Office of Sheriff experience, integrity, and commitment. I have 21 years of experience in law enforcement with 6 of those years as Sheriff. My track record is evident that I am qualified to serve the citizens of Clarke County realizing that this Office is not about me, but our community.
